Zenzaburo Kojima
1893 - 1962
Born in Fukuoka, Japan.
Artist`s Chronology
1914 studied at Hongo Private School of Western-style Painting.
1922 at Nika Art Exhibition he received the Nika Award for his works "Nude" and "Landscape in Yoyogi".
1924 studied in France.
1928 returned to Japan and showed his works that was created in Europe, such as “Sonya Standing” at Nika Art Exhibition.
1930 became a member of Nika kai, yet soon he withdrew from the association and founded with his fellow artists the
Dokuritsu Bijutsu Kyokai (Independent Art Association).
One of his outstanding works, "Route to the Japanese Alps" was exhibited at "Independent Art Exhibition" of the
association. He showed his works at The Contemporary Japanese Art Exhibition and The Japan International Art Exhibition
as well.
