1884 came to Tokyo and become a disciple of Gyokusho Kawabata
1896 on referral of Seiki Kuroda, he become an assistant professor at Tokyo Art University that just set up Western painting department
1905 went abroad to Europe, and studied in Paris and Rome for 4 years. After returned, he became a professor of Tokyo Art University
1912 Establishd“Hongo European Painting research institute” with Saburosuke Okada
1933 visited Taiwan for three years, and was the judge for “Taiwan Art Exhibition” in 1935
1924 became a member of Japan Art Academy
1937 received the Cultural Medal along with Saburosuke Okada
