Hiroo Yamamura Exhibition

After approximately 40 years since he won the Showakai Award in 1993, this is his 8th time to hold his periodical solo show at Galerie Nichido. At the time of his Showakai Award winning, he was influenced by the American abstract expressionism, and his painting style changed to landscapes with European-style clarity after moving to Europe mainly including France and Italy. In recent years, he has introduced essence of cultures and sense of life with further careful precision in details which attract us in a great deal. After resigning from the position of art instructor at Aichi prefectural high school, Asahigaoka High School, he has visited Kyoto and Nara enthusiastically for information collecting and continued his production in seeking of "learning from the past and new." This is his first solo show after he left Kokugakai to which he had belonged for a long time. It is an exhibition with his sincere heart of maturity with dedication of time for information collection and mastering his own art to create major works. We sincerely introduce his solo show.
