"Noriko Nieda Exhibition -Advocating days of strength"

We are pleased to introduce "Noriko Nieda Exhibition -Advocating days of strength." This show is the first large exhibition after eight years since 2014.
She presents the fantastical and imaginative world of painting with bizarre creatures which look like humans but are not actually humans and stories countlessly painted all over. As you carefully look at them, you may feel like you have become a part of that world. Not only with the influence she received from the early Flemish paintings, but also with her colorful painting style by her unique sensibility, her works have kept attracting us since she won the Showakai Award.
Ms. Nieda participated in "Artist in Residence" held as the memorial event for opening after move of the atelier of the master of modern Japanese western-style paintings, Mr. Saburosuke Okada about 4 years ago. Through that experience, she strongly felt and received the "strength of what is still descending even after a long period of time and such works" and created the theme of "linking the records of strong lives of people" underlying in the pieces exhibited at this solo show. We will exhibit approximately 30 new pieces of her spirited works including a large piece of No. 100. Please enjoy the show.
