Seigen Imanaga Exhibition - A Song of Life -

We are pleased to introduce an exhibition of new art pieces by Mr. Seigen Imanaga.
Mr. Imanaga was born in Beppu, Oita Pref. and graduated in the Oil Paint major at Tama Art University. He studied under Mr. Taro Ogi and when young, he distinguished himself by winning the Showakai Exhibition Nichido Kasai Award, etc. His initial touch was difficult to understand due to his devotion to the cubism, but he began to prefer drawing innocent owls and boys around the time he studied abroad as a dispatched artist trainee from the Agency for Cultural Affairs. His spiritual formative world created from the picture with the abstractness and inwardness enhanced by the drawing manner as simplified as possible expresses the deepness which cannot be seen in the contemporary arts. We are looking forward to your visit.

I will hold a solo show at Galarie Nichido Fukuoka Gallery. It has been 35 years since I graduated from the art university. I will exhibit more than 30 pieces of flowers and animals, and particularly owls, which are the god of wisdom and animal of love, under the theme of sparkle of lives. I hope you enjoy them.
